IQ Test

A friend of mine sent me a puzzle that only people with an IQ over 120 are supposed to be able to solve. It took me about 10 minutes with a paper and pencil. Middle Grandson, D, did it in 5 minutes - in his head. But then he cleaned up on 4th grade academic awards. Here's the test.

If:
2 + 3 = 10
7 + 2 = 63
6 + 5 = 66
8 + 4 = 96

Then:
9 + 7 = ????

Multiply the left side of the equation by the first nmber.

wow that got me for a minute it took me 3minutes to get it but wow thats good XD

The hardest part wasn't even solving the pattern, it was multiplying 16 by 9...which took me like 10 seconds.

That puzzle is easy. 9 + 7 =??? Here are my steps. 1)9+7=16 2)16x9= 144 The answer is 144.

too easy to solve add number of left side and multiply it with the first number i-e add 9 + 7 add nine and seven and multiply it with first number which is 9 and is 16 x 9 =144.

i did it in less than 1 min

144, not going to spoil it, thats for you to determine.

nice one.

less then 15 seconds

Got another way:
1.)square first number
2.)multiply first and second numbers
3.)add two answers together
Ex. 2x2=4, 2x3=6, 4+6=10

Did it without calculator in less than 1 min

Add both and multiply with first
eg.2+3=5,5*2=10
so 2 +3=10
9+7=15,15*9=135
so 9+7=135

Fristly adding both and Multiply the left side of the first number
9+7=16 and multiply 16*9=144.
This is really interesting blog. Thanks for sharing such a nice blog.

It's abuse of mathematical notation, even if you insist on a pattern that gives the 144. An engineer calculating like this should avoid the avionics business.
